One year ago today I had my femur sawed in half and had a titanium hip joint hammered into it. As a young man, this was devastating. Less for my body as it was for my sense of identity. I prided myself on being an athlete, and suddenly I had little hope of running again. But then I hobbled into the Jackson Clinics Broadlands and met McCaul Benson and her team... and everything changed. The Jackson Clinics understands athletes, and they understand that 'just good enough' is not good enough. And they gave me something I desperately needed... hope. They pushed me, they healed me. Beyond just rehabilitating my new hip, they retrained my muscles to run more in balance. They taught me how a better running form was not only the path to rebuilding my hip, but the key to being a better more efficient runner. Yesterday, I stepped onto the treadmill and ran a sub-10 minute mile. Thank you McCaul, thank you Jackson Clinic. You did more that rehabilitate my hip, you gave me my life back.
